We have hundreds of different Tartans available to purchase, whether you would like to make your own kilt, mini-sash, handkerchiefs, ribbons or even use for scrapbooking.
We supply four weights, each suitable for different uses.
The range of prices given for the Reiver, Braeriach and Strome fabrics reflect the demand for the tartans. There are two price categories; Standard and Select. Standard tartans are the most popular while the Select tartans are in less demand. The price difference reflects the economies of scale. Finally, there is a general trend over time for Select Tartans to move into the Standard Tartan category as they become more popular.
This is a very lightweight plainweave fabric suitable for applications where a twill weave would be too bulky
This fabric is 150cm/59” wide and weighs 240 gms per linear metre or 7/8 oz per linear yard.
The Springweight fabric is available in 205 tartans.

Price: NZD $95 per metre
This is a proper twill weave tartan suitable for neckties, ladies’ skirts, waistcoats and other lightweight clothing. It has a smaller sett size (the size of the checks) than the heavier weight fabrics. It can also be used for men’s tartan trousers if the knees are linded to prevent stretching. We do not recommend it for kilts.
This fabric is 150cm/59” wide and weighs 335 gms per linear metre or 10 oz per linear yard.
It is available in 500 tartans. Of these, 99 are Standard Tartans whil the remaining 401 are Select Tartans.

This is a supurb medium weight fabric designed for men’s kilts. It also works very well for men’s jackets and tartan trousers.
This fabric is 138cm/54” wide and weighs 415 gms per linear metre or 13 oz per linear yard.
It is available in over 220 tartans. Of these, 157 are Standard Tartans while 57 are Select Tartans.

This is a premier heavy weight fabric for men’s kilts. It is very highly regarded by professional kiltmakers as perhaps the finest kilt fabric produced today. It is also supurb for use in upholstery due to its excellent wearing qualities and drape.
This fabric is 138cm/54” wide and weighs 500 gms per linear metre or 16 oz per linear yard.
Over 580 tartans are available in this range. Of these, 59 are Standard Tartans while 490 are Select Tartans.
